Paying the bill
Traditionally the eldest or the person who invited pays; splitting is now common among friends.
DoPay at the counter on the way out, not at the table. · If someone treats you, offer to pay next time (or buy coffee after).
AvoidDon't fight too hard if an elder insists on paying. · Don't ask staff to split by item at a busy lunch.
